'The Big Bang Theory' Season 9 News and Recap: The Girls with Relationship Blues, While the Boys Deal with a Wheel Change

After the last season ended with Leonard and Penny's wedding while Amy and Sheldon were busy breaking up, it had been expected that both (especially the latter) will have a significant effect on the group's dynamic and it was definitely obvious three episodes into the new season.

In episode 3 entitled "The Bachelor Party Corrosion," the group continues on divided as the boys head to Mexico for a post-bachelor party reunion and the girls stay behind for Penny's post-bachelorette party. According to the recap by Den of Geek, the current episode is much lighter than the previous episodes. Albeit facing their own kinds of problem, it will be a step away from romantic ones.

The boys' dilemma comes in a form a tire change when their roadtrip to Mexico is interrupted by tire change. Raj's initial plan to kidnap Leonard and surprise his by taking him to Mexico go haywire as soon as they cross the border. Being the scientists that they are, you would think that with their four heads working together, changing a tire would happen just like that. However, it didn't seem like even having an engineer like Howard on board helped the situation as the four basically spent the entire episode figuring how to do that.

While the boys are busy with trivial matters, the girls are dealing with much more deeper conflicts. Apparently, Amy and Penny have both not yet revealed to their parents the status of their relationship. Amy has not told her mom about her ended relationship with Sheldon, while Penny has yet to call her family, most especially her dad about her recent Las Vegas nuptial with Leonard.

Many fans have been waiting for the season to pick up. Although it is understood that the season would more likely have to tie things from where it previously ended, fans are quite uncertain for the first time where the group's story could be headed to at this point.

Season 9 of "The Big Bang Theory" airs every Monday, 8 p.m. on CBS.
