'The Big Bang Theory' Season 9 Spoilers, Plot News: Star Mayim Bialik Discusses the Future Love Affair of Amy

The latest showing of CBS' hit sitcom, "The Big Bang Theory" Season 9, reveals that everyone's favorite couple – Sheldon (Jim Parsons) and Amy (Mayim Bialik) – are currently in a very complicated situation.

For those who missed it, Amy recently dumped Sheldon and despite the latter's efforts to win her back, it seems to be already over for both them. In fact, during a recent interview with E! Online (via International Business Times), Bialik is already hinting that her character might be involved with a few other guys on the current season of the show.

"We actually have some very interesting stuff coming up in that arena," the cast member was quoted as saying (via IBT).

Keeping tight on the exact details, the 39-year-old real-life geek revealed that some people are rooting for Amy to date someone that is "super hunky" or really the type that is completely opposite that of Sheldon's.

But for the actress herself, "it's OK to keep it a little bit real in that someone like Amy probably would pursue someone."

Bialik however clarified that this doesn't mean attractive people can't be intellectual; it's just that she would want someone that Amy would likely find in her own field who, as she added, "might not be that concerned with appearance."

As far as her onscreen love interest is concerned, if ever Amy and the theoretical physicist won't be able to patch things up, the neuroscientist thought of linking Sheldon to someone like Penny, more specifically a "contrast of a Penny type."

"I think that would be really good for laughs and for comedy," Bialik said.

She also added that a "female scientist type" could also be a possible match for Sheldon.

The Amy-Sheldon breakup will further be tackled on the next episode of "The Big Bang Theory" Season 9 titled "The Bachelor Party Corrosion" airing this Monday, October 5 at 8 p.m. on CBS.
