'The Blacklist' Season 2 News, Spoilers: Showrunner Hints at New Black Site Prison, Red Kidnapped in Teaser
The midseason premiere of the hit crime drama TV series "The Blacklist" Season 2 is now just around the corner. The NBC show will return on air after the network's coverage of the Super Bowl this Feb. 1. After that, the program will shift to a Thursday night airing at 9 p.m. on Feb. 5.
Spoiler reports now indicated that the new episodes will feature some big changes. As hinted by a recently-released promo video, it appears Red (James Spader) will be held up by some unknown enemy.
Speculations from Enstarz.com suggested that Blacklister Luther Braxton (Ron Perlman) will be the prime suspect behind Red's kidnapping. Given their "inharmonious past" it wouldn't be too hard to assume.
The media outlet also cited executive producer Jon Bokenkamp about a new "black site prison" called The Factory which will be introduced in the Feb. 1 episode.
"[There is a] black site prison called The Factory, which is an off-the-books interrogation facility in the Bering Sea," Bokenkamp said.
Fans will also "hear about The Fulcrum in the Super Bowl episode. Red is assembling those clues and trying to figure out what Fitch was trying to warn him about. There's a ticking clock that underscores the back half of the season," the executive producer added.
Another question that viewers of the show should also watch out for is the connection between Red and Liz (Megan Boone).
