'The Blacklist' season 3 news, cast, spoilers: Liz will undergo a radical transformation

It seems that "The Blacklist" season 3 will start off in an action-packed run, a continuation from where the finale of the last season left off.

Elizabeth "Liz" Keen (Megan Boone) and Raymond "Red" Reddington (James Spader) were definitely in a bind when viewers last saw them, and it doesn't seem like they will be getting out of it so quickly.

In a trailer presented by NBC, it is shown that Liz would be running from basically everyone. First would be from the FBI, the second would be the Cabal, and finally even her own task force after her stunt of killing the U.S. attorney general in the finale last season.

Liz, who will be aided by Red while being on the run, will have a lot of obstacles to overcome. Boone shared with Entertainment Weekly, "What I'm discovering is that while it's really entertaining and Red is still this very colorful character, we're not taking this [situation] very lightly. The first step is just to get out alive."

Executive producer Jon Bokenkamp further adds, "The tone of the show is more urgent. This is a manhunt. The stakes are bigger." Recent promotional pictures gave fans a sneak peek on the changes Liz would be undergoing, including the new blonde hair do. Boone shares, "She looks a lot more like her mother. She's transforming into a woman that was a mystery to her before."

Executive producer John Eisendrath also explains that the recent events in Liz's life will reflect a transformation in her personality as well, "She had a very idealistic world with a husband and a job, and everything was great. And the direction she's been pulled is a rather dark path. She's been drawn into Reddington's world, and I think she's seeing similarities in herself to him that she may not want to recognize."

Fans are eager to watch what awaits Liz in the new season of "The Blacklist" when it premieres on Oct. 1, Thursday.
