'The Blacklist' Season 3 News, Spoilers: Showrunner Confirms Integration Of Megan Boone's Pregnancy Into The Show

Things are expected to get even more intense when NBC's hit crime drama TV series "The Blacklist" returns to the small screen on January 7. Fans will finally get to see what takes place after the arrest of Liz Keen (Megan Boone).

As to whether or not the Task Force or Red (James Spader) will be able to protect Liz from the threat coming from the Cabal has yet to be discovered. However, news has arrived earlier this week indicating some new developments.

A report from MasterHerald.com cited executive producer Jon Bokenkamp confirming Boone's pregnancy with partner, Dan Estabrook.

As to how this could affect the show, the EP said that they have no choice but to incorporate the actress' pregnancy into the upcoming storyline. The showrunner says that Boone's pregnancy will be added into the series' storyline when it returns on air after its winter hiatus. Bokenkamp previously revealed that they could put in the plot when Liz slept with former husband, Tom Keen, played by Ryan Eggold.

A recent interview, on the other hand, cited Bokenkamp saying that they are still in the process of figuring out how to do it as this could eventually affect the future of the show. But one thing's for sure though, the child couldn't be from Red as Liz only shared a parental relationship with the latter.

For the meantime, The Futon Critic shared the synopsis for the new episodes coming next year.

Titled "The Director," the TFC summary said that Red and Aram (Amir Arison) will take drastic measures to keep Liz safe.

The next week's showing, titled "The Director: Conclusion," indicated that as the Cabal prepares their assassination plans to eradicate Liz, Red enlists the help of the task force to outmaneuver the enemy.

Stay tuned for more updates as "The Blacklist" returns on January 7.
