"The Dark Knight Rises" blu-ray was released yesterday Dec. 4. The film comes in both a regular edition and a Bat Cowl Limited Edition that is priced at $40.00.

The blu-ray includes some exciting extras such as "The Batmobile" documentary where all five Batmobiles used for the Batman films and television show will be together for the very first time. The birth and evolution of the caped crusader's wheels will be closely examined in this extra.

The film also comes with another extra called "Ending the Knight," which is a comprehensive look into how the director Christopher Nolan and his production team made "The Dark Knight Rises," which is also the conclusion to his reboot of the Batman films.

"The Dark Knight Rises" has received an overwhelming amount of positive reviews and has grossed $941 million worldwide. It currently holds the title as the 7th highest grossing film of all time and the second highest grossing film of 2012 behind "The Avengers."

"The Dark Knight Rises" is the last film in the Batman reboot series directed by Christopher Nolan. The other two films in the series are 2005's "Batman Begins" and 2008's "The Dark Knight" starring the late Heath Ledger.

Nolan has confirmed that this will be his last Batman film and that the studio will mostly likely reboot the series after this movie.
