'The Descendants 2' Update and Trailer: Ursula's Daughter Joins the Cast, Will They Be Able to Stay Evil-Free for Good?
DCOM to Air in Summer 2017; Original Cast and Director Will Remain
It's finally here! The latest updates on Season 2 for the Disney Channel original movie "The Descendants" revealed. Trailer of "Descendants 2" was recently released after months of anticipation from fans.
The teaser revealed that a new cast member is on the way and it looks like that she is not from close. She is actually someone under the sea by the looks of the scenery in the trailer.
In the trailer, Mal, Evie, Jay and Carlos look quite happy adjusting to their new, normal and evil-free lives when suddenly, someone was actually watching them from afar. The gang was being watched from an old crystal ball in a sinister place under the sea. Producers revealed that Ursula's daughter will soon join the cast and she might just be the most evil of all.

Uma, Ursula's daughter, will be played by China Anne McClain. China is also best-known for her role in another Disney Channel original movie "How to Build A Better Boy." Director Kenny Ortega will also return as "The Descendants 2" director.
Complete cast will also return for season 2
The complete cast of The Descendants will all return for season 2. Dove Cameron, Sofia Carson, Cameron Boyce, Mitchell Hope and Booboo Stewart have all revealed that they will all stay. But despite these, there are no details about the storyline of Season 2.
HollywoodLife.com was able to interview Dove and she revealed something that she does not want to happen to her character Mal: "I am hoping she is not going to die!" she told us. "That would be numero uno and besides that I hope she doesn't give up on her tough girl exterior. Because I am a really big fan of having the lead girl sort of be masculine. She is a tom boy definitely but she is also kind of like a dude, like I play her like a dude. She is really hard. So I hope they don't write her any different."
Wedding bells for Dove and Ryan
Meanwhile, Dove Cameron became engaged to Ryan McCartan in April this year. Ryan is also a Disney Channel Star and known for his role as Diggie in the sitcom Liv and Maddie. The 23-year old actor announced their engagement via Instagram.
"The Descendants 2" will air in summer of 2017.
