'The Division' Update 1.4 News and Upgrades: New Elements Promote Balance Gameplay, Accessible Through Public Test Server?

Players of the hit new third person shooter video game "The Division" will get plenty of upgrades and new features with a future update, but players can get a glimpse of what is to come via a Public Test Server.

'The Division' Update 1.4

Ubisoft just released the new "The Division" earlier this year. It has become such a huge hit that it actually is the number 1 bestselling video game title in the US. With this in mind, the publisher wants to give its consumers the best gaming experience that "The Division" has to offer, so the update version 1.4 is just around the corner.

More than the additional upgrades and equipment, the update version 1.4 of "The Division" balances the overall gameplay mechanics. It tones down elements, such as critical shot and headshot damage, that are way too high, making the game too easy to slay.

Skill bonuses from gears would also be removed, but will gain new scoring system. A whole lot more features of "The Division" are going to be amended, so it is recommended to try out the update itself.

Public Test Server

The changes mentioned above could all be tested by the players through a Public Test Server. This is due to Ubisoft aiming to gather feedbacks from "The Division" gamers first before officially releasing the update.

Ubisoft has not announced a clear and official release date yet for the game update. However, the company has stated that they will be releasing it to Steam players after they have finished directing their feedback for "The Division." It is a commendable move for Ubisoft to actually encourage its players to participate in this late development stage before releasing a final version.

The company explained that "The Division" update 1.4 is accessible via Uplay and Steam. The Public Test Server needs the whole client to be downloaded, which has a total file size of 45GB. Fret not though, as this does not overwrite the existing "The Division" game and the players' progress would not be affected.

The Public Test Server for "The Division" update would instead be installed on a separate folder. Due to the large file size, these downloaded files could then be deleted once the official update is released. It will then focus on the progression between the World Tiers, so players will not have to start from scratch. Instead, the starting characters will now be given a fresh new level 30 treatment.

As of yet, the Public Test Server for "The Division" is limited to the PC. However, Ubisoft is still exploring their options to bring it the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One platforms as well.
