The Earth Yields Her Crops

And He said, "The kingdom of God is as if a man should scatter seed on the ground, and should sleep by night and rise by day, and the seed should sprout and grow, he himself does not know how. For the earth yields crops by itself: first the blade, then the head, after that the full grain in the head. But when the grain ripens, immediately he puts in the sickle, because the harvest has come." Mark 4:26-29

Once the seed has been planted, the next principle, the principle of time, comes into operation. The earth has in itself an innate capacity to produce. The farmer does not need to daily dig up the seed to check if anything has happened. The seed begins to grow without any help from the farmer. God gives the growth. But the miracle, the breakthrough, the revival does not come immediately; it takes time. Days, weeks, months or years go by, and gradually, without the farmer understanding how, mature wheat appears in the head.

Time is a friend. Time is always on the side of truth. Time is the factor that always works for God’s kingdom. Once the Word has been planted, kept in place and protected, there is nothing that can hinder the harvest. It will come of itself. It is only a matter of time. Therefore, it is important to never give up, resign or flee but rather, in faith and with patience, to endure and receive what has been promised. The seed has in itself an enormous potential to bear fruit. It is made that way. Even in the most unlikely circumstances, it pushes through and grows into a mature plant. It is only a matter of time. It is the same way with the word of God. It has enormous power in itself, and when the conditions are right, wonderful results are produced over the course of time.
