'The Expendables 4' Release Switched to 2017 to Fit In With New Cast Member Schedules

"The Expendables 4" was originally planned to be released this year, but it will instead be screened in 2017 because of the recent changes in cast members.

In the past, the movie franchise consistently released a new installment every two years, but it seems "The Expendables 4" will be an exception. The action film's release date will be moved to 2017 to accommodate new cast members including wrestling icon Hulk Hogan, according to the Master Herald.

Sylvester Stallone, who produces, directs, and stars in "The Expendables 4," confirmed Hulk Hogan's participation in the upcoming movie. A few months ago, the wrestling legend himself also revealed that he was considering playing a villain in the fourth installment of the movie franchise, the report relays.

During the Body Power Expo in the United Kingdom in May, Hulk Hogan said his character in the movie will be the world's most evil man who will be targeted by Stallone's group. However, he voiced concerns over the possible inability of his 62-year-old body to keep up with the required stunts and suggested hiring a good stunt man for those scenes, the report details.

Another wrestler is also rumored to become part of the "Expendables" gang in the form of Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson. The latter reportedly became interested in doing the movie after he saw Ronda Rousey in the third installment, but he said he prefers to play the bad guy in the film.

Meanwhile, fans have been clamoring for the addition of Jackie Chan, professional boxer Manny Pacquiao, and Bollywood actor Salman Khan in the action film. Unfortunately, Salman has already said he is not interested in a Hollywood project, Movie News Guide reports.

Chan, on the other hand, also turned down a role in "The Expendables 4" because of his hectic schedule. However, the martial arts star explained that he would love to do a full-time role in the film and not just a cameo if time would allow it.
