Production on "The Fifth Wave" has started and photos from the set emerge online showing Chloe Grace Moretz already hard at work.
According to Daily Mail, Moretz was working on a quarantine scene on Tuesday in which her character, Cassie Sullivan, visits a medical camp where she is fitted with a face mask.
The film, based on the best-selling novel of the same title by Rick Yancey, tells the story of a group of people who have endured four waves of deadly attacks from aliens. Cassie, one of the few survivors, is on the run as she tries to save her brother. Later, she meets a young man who could help her in her mission.
On the set of "The Fifth Wave," Moretz was seen in character, dressed in dark colored pants and a t-shirt under a jacket. She carried a blue backpack as a nurse, outfitted in blue scrubs, was seen placing a face mask on her.
Joining Moretz in the cast are Ron Livingston, who will play Cassie's father Oliver; "Sons of Anarchy" star Maggie Siff as Lisa Sullivan, Cassie's mother; "Hart of Dixie" actress Talitha Bateman as Teacup, a young girl who is forced to join the army made up of children and teens; Maika Monroe as Ringer, another member of the army; Nick Robinson as Ben Parish; Alex Roe as Evan Walker, the boy Cassie meets; and "Ray Donovan" star Liev Schreiber as the sinister Colonel Vosch.
"The Fifth Wave" is going to be the first in a trilogy of films based on the books by Yancey. There has been no information when the second film, titled "The Infinite Sea," will be released.
"The Fifth Wave" will be released in theaters on January 29, 2016.
