'The Flash' Cast News, Update: Season 2 Casts 2 New More Superheroes; Linda Park To Return?

This week saw a lot of casting updates for the upcoming second season of The CW's hit superhero drama TV series "The Flash."

According to TV Line, the expanding universe of the DC TV show will see yet another speedster which will be headlined by newcomer Violett Beane. The actress plays the DC Comics character Jesse Quick in a multiple episode arc.

The show's Jesse is characterized as "a brilliant but quirky college student who gets caught in the battle between The Flash and Season 2 Big Bad Zoom" which is yet to be cast.

As further described by the official DC Wiki site, Jesse Quick is the alter-ego of Jesse Chambers. She is apparently the daughter of Golden Age heroes Johnny Quick and Liberty Belle. In the comics, she can access her super-speed powers by way of "speaking a special formula."

The media outlet meanwhile added in their casting reports that Barry Allen (Grant Gustin), Caitlyn Snow (Danielle Panabaker) and Cisco (Carlos Valdes) will once again be betrayed from someone working inside the STAR Labs.

TV Line cited the report from ComicBook.com saying that "The Unit" alum Demore Barnes will join Season 2 as Henry Hewitt.

"Firestorm" comic fans may know him as the villain Tokamak. His alter-ego was known to be a "charming but cocky scientist who was affected by the same particle accelerator explosion that created the Flash."

Caitlin eventually recruits Barnes to work with them at the famous laboratory, where he "begins to fulfil his destiny as a powerful meta-human."

More casting updates arrived, this time via Entertainment Weekly, saying that Malese Jow will be reprising her role as Linda Park with whom Barry get interested in on Season 1.

"Linda Park will return as Iris West's [Candice Patton] friend and colleague at Central Picture News and her past relationship with Barry will put both Iris and The Flash in unexpected danger," executive producer Gabrielle Stanton told EW.

"The Flash" Season 2 premieres Tuesday, Oct. 6 at 8 p.m. on The CW.
