'The Flash' News: Episode 7 'Power Outage' Recap

Last Tuesday's episode of "The Flash" features Barry as he loses his powers, while two villains create mayhem in Central City.

The episode titled "Power Outage" begins 10 months ago, as Farooq and his friends are watching the Particle Accelerator experiment. When the accelerator explodes, the shockwaves hits Farooq and electrocutes him, and it also kills his friends.

Back in the present, Wells enters his secret chamber and looks into the 2025 news article that tells of The Flash's death in the Crisis. He calls Barry into the lab so that he could try to figure out a way to kick his powers up a notch. However, they are interrupted when Barry is called to a homicide scene.

At the scene of the crime, they find out that the victim has been electrocuted and charred beyond recognition. Then, Cisco gets an energy reading from the power plant that matches the reading from the body. Barry speeds towards the plant, and he sees Farooq draining off the plant's energy. Then, when he senses the tremendous energy coming from Barry, he feeds off it, which leaves Barry powerless.

Barry takes a cab back to the lab, and Wells promises to find a way to restore his powers. Barry goes to the police department, where he sees Joe and Iris, and he tells Iris that maybe the Flash won't be able to help Central City anymore. Then, the police bring the Clock King into the precinct.

Back at the lab, Farooq shows up outside the doors and demands to speak to Wells. When the team refuses to let him in, he zaps all the powers from the entire city. At the precinct, the Clock King takes advantage of the situation and points a gun at Iris and Joe.

At the lab, Wells tries to jump start Barry's powers by using Cisco's treadmill. Then Wells goes to Girders cell and tells him that if he fights Farooq, he'll set him free. Girder agrees to do so, but he's no match for Farooq and gets killed.

The attempt to jumpstart Barry initially seems as though it didn't work, but when Farooq storms in to kill Wells, Barry's powers come back in full force and with his renewed power, he was able to overload Farooq and kill him. And at the precinct, Iris manages to get Eddie's gun and shoots the Clock King with it.

Tune in next week for "The Flash" and "Arrow" crossover episode. "The Flash" airs Tuesdays at 8 p.m. on The CW.
