'The Flash' News, Spoilers, Cast Updates: Tom Felton Joins Season 3 As Julian Albert
It seems that Barry Allen (Grant Justin) will be sticking around Flashpoint a little longer. "The Flash" Season 3 Episode 2, titled "The Paradox," revealed that Barry, who's still in that alternate universe, will begin to feel the "effects" of lingering longer than he should have. Meanwhile, a very familiar face comes to join "The Flash": Tom Felton, who plays Draco Malfoy in the Harry Potter franchise.
Tom Felton plays Julian Albert, a CSI tech who shares the lab with Barry Allen in "The Flash" Season 3. And although they've barely met, Julian takes an immediate disliking of Barry, though the latter doesn't know why. He's also described as "prickly." Tom Felton playing a prickly guy. Ring a bell?
As to his role in the famous Harry Potter series, Felton confessed that he'd love a meta-jab at his famous role as Draco Malfoy in "The Flash" Season 3. Executive producer Andrew Kreisberg shared his sentiment, and promised that fans can expect a joke here and then about it, especially from Cisco Ramon (Carlos Valdes).

Julian's role in "The Flash" Season 3
According to "The Flash" showrunner Todd Helbing revealed that Julian will be a "rival" of sorts for Barry Allen. Julian is a direct result of living in the Flashpoint, and it's something that The Flash will have to endure, even if he's just a minor impediment among the major problems he'll soon run into if he continued to stay in that alternate universe.
It can be recalled that during "The Flash" Season 2, the speedster had returned back in time to save his mother the night she was killed. He punched Eobard Thawne, killing the Reverse Flash many years too early. This meant undoing everything that happened in the future: his dad going to jail, his becoming The Flash, and losing his memory of his true present. With his mom alive, Barry Allen wouldn't feel the need to go into forensic science and thus gaining his powers as a speedster.
What you need to know about "The Flashpoint"
According to the "The Flash" comics, the Flashpoint timeline sees to a powerless Barry, and America getting into war with the Amazonians and the Atlanteans (led by Wonder Woman and Aquaman, respectively). Meanwhile, Cyborg is the strongest superhero as Superman ended up as a government subject when he landed in Metropolis instead of Kansas. The former is not nearly strong enough to hold a global defense. In short, complete chaos.
Viewers shouldn't hold their breaths to see these Justice League superheroes in the CW series, however. But they can still expect the same spiraling out of control in "The Flash" Season 3, starting with the debut of Tom Felton in the series.
