'The Flash' Season 1 News, Spoilers: Cisco Endangers Himself to Trap the Reverse-Flash; Superman To Appear in Season Finale?

The last episode of the hit superhero TV drama series "The Flash" saw Caitlin (Danielle Panabaker) finally believing that the man whom they've known in S.T.A.R. Labs as Harrison Wells (Tom Cavanagh) is actually the Reverse Flash. It was too much for them to realize that the real Dr. Wells has been dead for years already in a car crash.

In this week's episode titled "The Trap," Barry (Grant Gustin), Cait, and Cisco (Carlos Valdes), as well as Det. Joe (Jesse Martin) will devise a plan to entrap Wells/Eobard Thorne into the cage especially made to contain metahumans.

But the plan would require Cisco to use himself as prey. Will the plan work for them? Will Cisco make it out in one piece?

Meanwhile, Eddie (Rick Cosnett) realizes that his relationship with Iris (Candice Patton) is getting more complicated and this could force him to make a decision which in turn will leave Joe "a bit unsettled."

A report from TV Line cited showrunner Andrew Kreisberg sharing some details of the upcoming episode.

According to him, Cisco's flashes of visions of the alternate timeline will provide the team the needed details to carry out the plan. The executive producer also said that Barry's The Flash identity will finally be revealed to Iris and apparently, she won't be happy to hear the news.

In a related news, a report from Hollywood Life claims that another major DC character may come to Central City towards the end of the current and forward into its next chapter.

"[Executive producer] Greg Berlanti told reports during a CW event that Superman may appear in season 2 of The Flash," the media outlet stated. "Now, from what I gather, this Superman is going to be played by Tom Welling and his Superman may or may not be tied to Smallville, but I think that at the end season 1 would introduce an alternate timeline where Superman exists and Caitlin and Cisco are metahumans."

For the meantime, "The Flash" episode titled "The Trap" airs this Tuesday, April 28 at 8 p.m. on the CW.
