From this recent casting news, it appears that it won't only be Barry/Flash who will be getting a new love interest when the second season of the hit superhero TV drama series "The Flash" returns to The CW.

According to the latest TV scoop from TV Line's Michael Ausiello, "Joe [Jesse L. Martin] is going to partake in some nookie-nookie with a woman named Olivia."

The scooper went on to dish some details that the producers of the show are at the moment, on the lookout for an "African-American actress in her early-40s to play a troubled old friend of Joe's."

Olivia, as it turns out, will be a new recurring character in the next instalment.

Despite this new information, it remains to be seen how this certain "Olivia" will fit into the world of "The Flash." Will she be with any superpowers or will she bring any changes into the show's existing relationships?

In an earlier interview with executive producer Geoff Johns, he said that "there are a lot of new characters coming in, not just the ones that have been leaked online. And they all will challenge relationships, in good and bad ways."

With the purported hints of "nookie-nookie," it should also be interesting to find out how will Iris (Candice Patton) react, given that she's been the only girl in his father's life.

Perhaps Olivia will turn out to be Olivia's mother? Patton previously told Entertainment Tonight how it would be interesting for her character to know about her mother.

"I'm excited to go down that path too, of finding out the backstory and whereabouts of Iris' mother," the actress said. "I don't know that we'll get to that by the end of the season, but I'm more than sure that we'll address Iris' mom and what happened there."
