'The Flash' Season 2 Finale Spoilers: Barry Races for His Father

Time sure does flies fast and the Season 2 of The CW's hit superhero drama TV series "The Flash" is already here titled "Race of His Life."

Spoiler alert for those who missed the penultimate episode "Invincible," Barry Allen successfully conquered the meta-humans being brought from Earth-2 to this world by Zoom. Instead of accepting his defeat, the evil speedster once again took his revenge on one of Barry's loved ones. This time, he kidnapped Henry Allen and killed him right in front of the Scarlett Speedster. It was a shocking moment for everyone especially for Barry who is now technically an orphan.

But will this grief consume Barry who just recently had claimed back his speed?

In an interview, series actor Grant Gustin (as The Flash) told Comic Book that Barry won't allow this tragedy to take the best of him.

"He lost his mom at a young age, he saw her right in front of him, then went back in time and watched it again. … He'll find a way to deal with this," Gustin said. "He's not going to let it ruin him. It's going to be hard to come back from this one, but he'll stay optimistic Barry."

And one way to do it is to beat the very person who has caused it. In the promo video for the finale, Zoom will challenge the Red Streak in a race. The villain looks pretty much confident that he could outrun the hero. After having taken Barry's powers and of the other speedsters, he has every reason to believe to. But fans know full too well that the forensic scientist from Central City Police Department won't back down without a fight. It would be interesting to find out what tricks Barry has up in his sleeve this time around.

Also expected to be revealed in the season ender is the identity of the person behind the iron mask.

The synopsis shared over at The Futon Critic reads: "After Zoom (guest star Teddy Sears) reveals his true plan, Barry vows to do whatever it takes to stop him."

"The Flash" Season 2 finale premieres May 24 at 8 p.m. on The CW.
