'The Flash' Season 2 News, Update: New Teaser Promo Offers Glimpse of Zoom

A new teaser clip was released by The CW earlier this week for the upcoming second season of its hit superhero drama TV series "The Flash."

Despite its briefness, the 30-second promo offered just enough details about some of the exciting storylines that fans are looking forward to in the new chapter of the DC Universe small screen show.

For one, there's Dr. Martin Stein (Victor Garber), who is the other half of the Firestorm, lecturing Cisco Ramon (Carlos Valdes) about his newfound metahuman powers. The elder professor calls the ability of the STAR Labs resident genius a "gift," which despite that it makes him different from everyone else, makes him a special person capable of doing greater things for humanity.

The video also featured the warm acquaintance between the two speedsters, Barry Allen (Grant Gustin) and Jay Garrick (Teddy Sears).

The two are obviously at ease with one another despite their difference in a cosmic timeline scale.

"Here they call you the Scarlett Speedster," the original Flash spoke with Barry. When the latter asked as to how he is called in his universe, Garrick replied, "Crimson Comet."

The scenes then shifted to offer a quick glimpse of this season's new big baddie, Zoom (voiced by Tony Todd), who Garrick revealed to have killed a lot of people in his world.

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly (via Design & Trend), executive producer Andrew Kreisberg dished out some of the details of Season 2's main villain.

According to him, it is their intention to feature another speedster villain in the new installment who is different from Tom Cavanagh's Reverse-Flash.

As what he said, fans should expect to see a "really scary" Zoom – an evil speedster that "looks like a demon" and is "more akin to a monster."

Comic fans might easily relate Eobard Thawne (Cavanagh) to that of Zoom, but Kreisberg assures them that the two are very different, with Zoom being as "scary as all hell."

Catch the season premiere of "The Flash" this Tuesday, October 6, at 8 p.m. on The CW.
