'The Flash' Season 3 Episode 18: Will Abra Kadabra Reveal Savitar's Real Identity?

Who is Savitar? This has been the long-running mystery in the fans' minds ever since this season's big bad was first introduced in "The Flash." And with only a few episodes left in season 3, the show will be ushering in another villainous character who claims to know the man behind the armor.

The upcoming episode aptly titled "Abra Kadabra" brings in a DC Comics villain all the way from Earth-19 to cause havoc in Central City. In the official trailer for the episode, Abra Kadabra (David Dastmalchian) even claims that he and Barry aka The Flash (Grant Gustin) have been enemies for years. This starts making sense after Gypsy (Jessica Camacho) tells Team Flash that Abra Kadabra is actually from the 64th century.

What is his purpose in coming to Barry's earth and present timeline? And does he really know what he claims to know?

The official synopsis for the series reveals that once he is apprehended, he will make a tempting offer that Barry may not be able to refuse: He will reveal Savitar's true identity in exchange for his freedom. And with Iris' (Candice Patton) impending death still hanging over his head, The Flash just might take the villain up on his offer.

Unfortunately, Gypsy also happens to be hunting Abra Kadabra, who uses the brief confusion between Team Flash and Earth-19's collector to escape. This will anger Barry and force Cisco (Carlos Valdes) to take sides, because Gypsy, herself, is not going to back down. And after Caitlin (Danielle Panabaker) is severely injured in the battle against Gypsy, Julian (Tom Felton) sets aside his personal issues and rushes to his beloved's side.

Will Team Flash be able to catch Abra Kadabra before he can cause some real damage to Central City? And more importantly, will Abra Kadabra ever be able to tell Barry who Savitar really is?

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, executive producer Andrew Kreisberg teased that the subsequent episode 19 will take Barry on a trip to the future to find the answers on his own in an episode curiously titled "The Once and Future Flash."

"Barry is going to realize that the hunt for Savitar's identity might not lie in the present, which will take the show in a fun and interesting direction," Kreisberg shared.

"The Flash" airs every Tuesday at 8 p.m. EDT on The CW.
