'The Flash' Season 4 Spoilers: Iris Unwilling to Relinquish Leadership to Barry?

Barry Allen (Grant Gustin) and Iris West (Candice Patton) will decide amicably on who will be the true leader of the squad in the upcoming season of "The Flash."

Executive producer Andrew Kreisberg told Entertainment Weekly that the couple would bicker a lot since they would not see eye to eye on many things. When Barry left for the Speed Force, Iris took over his role as the leader of Team Flash. She did well, showing a side of her that the members have not seen before. The EP teased that this episode would be fun, as Barry and Iris would end up going to couple's therapy to talk things out.

"Well, it's a lot of fun in episode two. Barry and Iris keep comically clashing inadvertently because she's used to being in charge, and he's used to being in charge, and so they wind up going to couples therapy to work through it. The two of them with the therapist is some of the funniest stuff we have ever done on this show, but it also leads to a deepening of their relationship," Kreisberg teased.

Although the Team Flash members know that Iris is good in what she does, they underestimated her leadership skills. She excelled even though Barry was not around, making good decisions and ensuring that her squad was safe. Barry will definitely appreciate what his fiancée has done. Meanwhile, it has been teased that Iris will encounter problems that involve her father's girlfriend, Cecile Horton (Danielle Nicolet).

Last installment, Joe (Jesse L. Martin) was forced to tell his lover Flash's true identity. Cecile had a calculating look on her face when she finally learned who the red speedster was. As a prosecutor, the information that she has now may be used to her advantage. Iris will worry about this, making her relationship with both Joe and Cecile trickier than ever.

"The Flash" season 4 will premiere on Tuesday, Oct. 10, at 8 p.m. EDT on The CW.
