'The Fosters' Season 3 News, Spoilers: Annika Marks Talks Monte and Lena Kiss

No lies can be hidden forever. A promo trailer for the upcoming episode in the latest third season of ABC Family's hit TV drama series, "The Fosters," reveals Stef asking Lena about Monte.

"Did you know she [Monte] was gay?" Stef asks Lena, who appears to be stumped with the question.

Fans may remember the kiss that Monte and Lena shared in the Season 2 finale of the show. Although the issue has been kept under wrap ever since, executive producer Joanna Johnson said that the particular act of intimacy between the two colleagues will be a big part in how the Lena and Stef relationship will play out in the season.

"One of the things we want to explore is 'do you tell your spouse everything that ever happens'" Johnson said in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter.

Actress Annika Marks, who plays the school principal, meanwhile shed some light about her character.

"I don't think Monte is a scandalous person. I think she's confused, but I don't think she's scandalous. And I think even fans are having a hard time just hating her. Like I get a lot of tweets about 'Oh I want to hate you but I kind of like you and I hate myself for liking you,' like that kind of tweets. I get a lot of those messages," Marks told the International Business Times.

She did however throw in some assurance that regardless of what would happen, fans should expect Stef and Lena's relationship to withstand the storm.

"You know, just to keep breathing and I think more than anything else, trust that that marriage at the center of the show between Stef and Lena is strong. What they're reflecting with the storyline is just the struggle that every marriage goes through and that no one has to be panicking about that marriage falling apart," she said.

"If anything, I think this storyline is about it strengthening through some trials and getting to know each other better. So they should just hang in there and keep breathing."

"The Fosters" Season 3 airs Mondays at 8 p.m. on ABC Family.
