Just when you thought that robots were still unable to do basic tasks, one robot is rising – and for that matter –walking above our humanoid expectations.

Enter Atlas, a bipedal machine that can open doors, walk on all terrain, pick up boxes, and lift itself up after falling. At least it hasn't mastered time travel and shotguns, am I right?

Anyway, the folks at Boston Dynamics posted a video to YouTube on Tuesday showcasing Atlas' many physical talents, which brings us one step closer to robot apocalypse.

Kidding or fear mongering aside, Atlas' abilities are impressive and show yet another step forward in getting machines to function as human beings.

Uploaded to YouTube a mere two days ago, the video has already gotten more than 7.2 million views and nearly 90,000 likes.

It also got about 1,900 dislikes, presumably from the future resistance fighters who will be led by John Connor. Hasta la vista, baby!
