However, fans need not to wait that long for them to see another helping of the program as the network also announces that the show will resume in the early part of January.

Still kept under wraps, details about the finale indicated that Cary Agos (Matt Czuchry) will get back to jail and that a new character will appear.

Michael Ausiello of TVLine recently spoke about the drama's development.

"The show is currently casting a role that leads me to believe a long jail sentence may indeed be in his future. The character is Tim, and he's a 'prison consultant' who is hired to give Cary a day-long session on how to survive in prison. Tim's an ex-convict so he would know," he said.

But before that Sunday arrives, a synopsis for the next episode of "The Good Wife" was posted in The Futon Critic.

"Alicia (Julianna Margulies) takes on a college rape case which pits her against Louis Canning when it moves from a university hearing to civil court. Meanwhile, Eli (Alan Cumming) and Elfman (Steven Pasquale) conduct a political focus group as Alicia dives into her campaign for State's Attorney," the synopsis reads.

The site also pointed out that aside from Michael J. Fox reprising his role, Rita Wilson will also be featured as guest star and she will play a certain lawyer named Viola Walsh.

'The Good Wife' Season 6 airs every Sunday, at 9 p.m. on CBS.
