'The Good Wife' Season 7 Plot News: Alicia's New Life and New Friends

The upcoming season of "The Good Wife" is expected to bring Alicia to a new path in her life, as well as new characters.

It was reported that with Alicia Florrick, played by Julianna Margulies, going through some difficult times in her life and career, the upcoming season will bring her to a new chapter in her life. With that, she is also expected to make new friends throughout the episodes to come.

Margulies recently spoke about her character. She said, "Alicia needs to make some money and no law firm will hire her. So in the premiere you see her go to bond court, which a lot of lawyers look down on because it's a very tough job and it's sort of where people go who can't get into law firms."

Her new job will lead her to Lucca Quinn, played by Cush Jumbo. The two are expected to compete for clients for the beginning of the season. Jumbo also spoke about what to expect between the two. She said, "Lucca slowly realizes that she's struggling and the two of them really bond. She has this incredible ease about her."

Along with Jumbo, the season will also bring in Jeffrey Dean Morgan, who will take on the role of Jason Crouse. He shared some teasers about his character for the series. He said, "We know that he (Jason) was a lawyer at one time and he beat up a judge and is thrown in prison now he is obviously out and he can't practice law anymore. He's been disbarred and becomes an investigator and begins working with Alicia."

Vanessa Williams will also be joining the cast as Courtney Boalt. She was described as a successful businesswoman who will help Peter Florrick with his campaign. It is also predicted that she will be Eli's love interest.

"The Good Wife" season 7 is expected to air this Oct. 4.
