'The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1' Release Date Rumors: Katniss Everdeen Has New Look in New Photo Poster

A new promo poster for "The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1" has been recently released, and Katniss Everdeen shows off her dark side as she suits up in black.

The poster shows Jennifer Lawrence as Katniss, and the image focuses on her winged armor and her bow and arrows. The tagline at the bottom of the poster reads, "I am. I will." The quote is a reference to Katniss accepting the role of the Mockingjay as she leads the rebellion against the Capitol.

The new poster joins other previously released posters featuring the rebels of District 13: Gale (Liam Hemsworth), Messala (Evan Ross), Boggs (Mahershala Ali), Castor (Wess Chatam), Cressida (Natalie Dormer), and Pollux (Elden Henson).

The film also stars Josh Hutcherson as Peeta Mellark, Julianne Moore as President Coin, Sam Claflin as Finnick Odair, Woody Harrelson as Haymitch, Elizabeth Banks as Effie Trinkett, and the late Philip Seymour Hoffman as Plutarch Heavensbee.

In the new film, Katniss sets out to save Peeta from President Snow while she accepts the task of leading the rebels to overthrow the current leadership. In able to do so, Katniss has to take on the symbolic title of the Mockingjay.

In other news, MTV reports that new billboards to promote the film have been popping up in New York and LA that shows the various districts of Panem. In L.A., a billboard for District 6 was seen, and in New York, a billboard of District 9, and both billboards appear to have been spray painted with the Mockingjay symbol. More billboards representing the other districts are expected to pop up in other major cities in the U.S.

"The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1" opens in theaters on Nov. 21, 2014.
