'The Last Man on Earth' Season 2 Spoilers: Will Phil Find Carol?

Last year's Emmy-nominated comedy TV series, "The Last Man on Earth," has returned to the small screen for its second season when it premiered last Sunday, September 27. According to a report in the Latin Post, the next episode of the season will see Phil losing his wife and travel companion, Carol, after he unknowingly leaves her at an abandoned gas station. This happened during their road trip using their RV, in search of another place to live in.

The show's premiere episode showed the couple after they left Tucson, Arizona in their RV. Their departure, as shown at the end of first season, was prompted by the fact that the other survivors who were living with them in town wanted them out.

The report is based on a preview of episode two, which showed the two having a bit of a spat. Carol, wanting to avoid talking to Phil, opted to stay in one portion of the RV. Phil also did the same. While Carol stepped out of the RV to look around a gas station somewhere in Oklahoma, Phil got on the RV and left for Tucson, thinking that Carol was still in the vehicle. He realizes his mistake after going through several states. He tries to look for her but he could not remember where the gas station was. He also goes back to Tucson only to find the others gone and his house destroyed by a fire.

Another report in International Business Times outlined four new things that viewers should watch out for in the second season. The first thing is that Tucson will no longer be the show's main setting, and the first two episodes of the new season already showed this as Phil and Carol went on a road trip. Secondly, Jason Sudeikis, who plays Phil's brother in the show, will be making a recurring appearance as an astronaut in the International Space Station. According to Will Forte, who plays Phil, the second season will also bring in "fewer new characters," but still "find other ways to take the story in different directions." Lastly, Phil's ball family will be expanding, with a new ball family member joining the fray. In season one, Phil was seen painting faces on sports balls and talking to them as if they were real people. This apparently kept him sane while he was waiting for other survivors to show up.
