'The Last of Us 2' Rumors: Game Sequel to Arrive in 2019

While Naughty Dog has yet to attach an official release date for "The Last of Us 2," rumors claim that the highly anticipated game will be released in 2019.

It has almost been a year since "The Last of Us 2" was announced, but it remains unclear when it will arrive. However, if rumors are to be believed, the long-awaited game sequel may hit the store shelves in 2019.

Speculations on "The Last of Us 2" possibly arriving in 2019 has been bolstered by the statement from the game's music composer, Gustavo Santaolalla. While Santaolalla could not give a concrete answer whether the game sequel will, indeed, arrive in 2019, his answer has fueled the earlier speculations that it will be the case.

"It'll be done in 2019 (laughs). No, I don't know exactly when it will come out, but a project like this usually takes at least 2 years to make. I've been working on it now for about a year, and after my last concert at the 28th of October, I will be traveling to LA to keep working on the game," Santaolalla reportedly said when interviewed on an Argentinian radio show recently.

Some opine that it is, indeed, possible for "The Last of Us 2" to arrive in 2019. As the game sequel was announced at the PlayStation Experience event in December last year, and with the assumption that the game had already undergone the early stages of production prior to its announcement, it will have been three years since its production by 2019.

While it remains unclear if "The Last of Us 2" will arrive in 2019, some even go on predicting that the game will be released in June 2019. This assumption is based on the observation that Naughty Dog releases its Triple-A titles in the said month, including the first "The Last of Us," its remastered version, and "Uncharted 4."

Whether "The Last of Us 2" will really arrive in 2019 or not, no one outside Naughty Dog can really tell for now. However, fans suspect that more details about the game, including its release date, will be announced at next year's E3 (Electronic Entertainment Expo).
