'The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild' DLC: Two DLCs Coming This Year

"The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild" has been getting rave reviews ever since it was released earlier this month. Players can look forward to more content coming, though, starting with the downloadable content set for a summer release.

According to iDigitalTimes, there are two expansions scheduled to roll out this year. The first one will be available this summer and will introduce a lot of new things, including a Cave of Trials challenge, hard mode and an additional map feature. The Cave of Trials challenge is believed to be similar to the Cave of Ordeals from "The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess," which means players will face levels with progressively harder enemies to defeat.

The new hard mode, on the other hand, is expected to take things up a notch. It should be noted that "Breath of the Wild" is already a challenging game in itself, so the hard mode is definitely going to be a more difficult task to take on. Nintendo did not expound on what exactly they meant with "additional map feature," but many theories have been made.

The second DLC, which is scheduled for a holiday release, is the bigger one out of the two since it includes a new story and dungeon, as well as other challenges. And while Nintendo did reveal a few things about the winter DLC, they did not say anything about the new challenges that will come with it. Regardless, fans are undoubtedly excited.

Both DLCs will be available to those who have purchased the game's Expansion Pass. Apart from those, players who already bought the season pass were given three new treasure chests with various items and clothing.

A day one update was also released, according to GameSpot, and it included a new menu option. Through this, players are able to find out what DLC is available for the game.
