'The Legend of Zelda: Breath Of the Wild' News & Update: Game to Launch Together with Nintendo NX; Sequel a Multiplayer?

'The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild' Not an Open-World But an 'Open Air' Game

"The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild" is rumored to be one of the launching games of the Nintendo NX.

"The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild" is expected to be released in 2017 on the Wii U and the Nintendo NX. Video game analyst Michael Pachter exclaimed that the game's launching on the NX made him realize just how "powerful" the new console will be.

A known video game analyst, Pachter previously doubted the success of Nintendo NX. However, in a new interview at the E3 convention last week mentioning "The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild," he praised the console. Pachter even told Gamertag Radio that the NX will sell at least 10 million with the Zelda game as one of its launch titles.

Fans of the franchise were blown away when Nintendo showcased the game at the convention. Like many of them, Pachter described the upcoming Zelda title to be "amazing" and NX will be something that Nintendo and the series fans should own.

Not Open-World, 'Open-Air'

Nintendo game designer Shigeru Miyamoto once said that "The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild," then unnamed, is not an open-world game. Miyamoto shared that the game is more "open air."

He explained that the term was coined by Nintendo's Bill Trinen and he uses it to aptly describe the new Zelda game. The term has something to do with the wilderness, where most of the adventures of Link happen mixed with adventure and exploration that they want players to be a part of.

New Zelda Game to be Multiplayer?

Nintendo game designer Eiji Aonuma said in a separate interview that a new Zelda game may be multiplayer or have some elements of it. At the E3 2016, Aonuma mentioned Zelda titles that have multiplayer elements including Triforce Heroes" where they are interested to experiment on.

The experimentation comes after making "The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild" a single-player game. However, Nintendo has incorporated a Wolf Link amiibo to give players a companion to increase their survivability. Aonuma's multiplayer hint may be a possibility in a future Zelda game by Nintendo.
