'The Mayor' Season 1 Episode 2 Spoilers: Struggling Rapper's New Gig as City Mayor Begins in New ABC Comedy

All the 27-year-old struggling rapper, Courtney Rose (Brandon Micheal Hall), wanted was a little attention. But he ends up getting more than he's bargained for on ABC's new political comedy series, "The Mayor."

In order to bring his music to a much larger audience, Courtney decided to campaign for mayor of his city, Fort Grey. He never expected to and never even intended to win, but after speaking out for the concerns of the common people during a public debate against fellow mayoral candidate, Ed Gunt (David Spade), Courtney ended up winning the favor of 52 percent of the voters.

But although the rapper has a clear understanding of and even first-hand experience of the things that concern the people of Fort Grey, he is also just a young guy bound to make some impulsive decisions for his own personal fulfillment.
