The new 'HTC One A9' – A 'handsome' smartphone to be unveiled on Sept. 6.

Reports began to surface last week about a new smartphone from the Taiwanese company, HTC. Rumoured to be named the "HTC One A9", the Taiwan-based tech company put up a teaser on its Twitter account, cryptically announcing that it is going to unveil a "handsome" smartphone on September 6.

Rumours gathered force when HTC started teasing about a new device in China on the popular social media platform, Weibo. Even though no details were provided, it was referred to as "MengYao", which means "handsome".

The unofficial leaks pointed to the HTC One A9 (Aero) which would be a filler phone between the HTC One M9 and its high-end successor. The official HTC Weibo post announces that this in-between phone will be unveiled on Sept. 6th. Soon enough there was a leaked seven-second video that came from within the HTC test centre.

All these leaks confirm that HTC will unveil a "handsome" smartphone on Sept. 6th.

The new HTC One A9 is supposed to be the first smartphone to have the deca-core MediaTek Helio X20 Chip and it is combining this powerhorse with 4GB of RAM. No wonder then that HTC CEO Cher Wang refers to the upcoming HTC One A9 as a "Hero" device.

In addition to the deca-core, the HTC One A9 will have all the high-end features like:

Camera- a Quad HD rear camera with RAW photography support and display of 1440 x 2560 pixel.
Inside - Powered by a deca-core chip. It will also have a Mali-T880 MP4 graphics processor.
Display - Scratch and Smudgefree Gorilla Glass 4 with QHD display.

But HTC has a tough job ahead as it has to fix the overheating problem of the HTC One M9. The leaked images show the handsets looking similar to the iPhones. If this is the case, HTC may not be able to make headway in the already busy market by just mimicking iPhones.

Only a few days left and the suspense will be over by Sept.6.
