'The Originals' Casting News, Update: Show Casts 2 More Characters for Season 3
The casting reports for The CW's hit supernatural TV drama series "The Originals" are rife with the news that "Veronica Mars" alum Jason Dohring has now signed up for a "recurring role" on the upcoming third season of the show.
Dohring portrays the role of Detective Will Kinney, who is described by The Hollywood Reporter as "a smart and confident with a very clear sense of right and wrong, who is out to bring the forces of evil to justice. And while Kinney doesn't know exactly what's going on in New Orleans, he has a strong suspicion that something strange is happening beneath the surface of the city."
Dohring's Kinney is just but one of the many newcomers in Season 3 and as it turns out, a recent item from TV Line's TV scoop segment "Ask Ausiello," points out to two of the new faces slated to join the series.

According to TV Line, the show is currently on the lookout for an actor to play the character of Van, "a male witch in his early 20s, who reluctantly becomes involved in New Orleans' supernatural politics when a loved one is murdered."
Besides Van, the new season is also set to introduce a new vampire named Tristan. This one's a bit more interesting as the publication said that the character shares "a long and complicated history" with the Mikaelsons.
"Tristan is loyal to a fault and ruthless against his enemies; as for whom he takes to bed, let's just say he might not discriminate," the site continued.
"The Originals" Season 3 premieres Thursday, Oct. 8 at 9 p.m. on The CW.
