'The Originals' Season 3 Cast News, Update: Nathaniel Buzolic Talks About Kol's Return in the Show

Former cast member Nathaniel Buzolic is returning to reprise his role as Kol in the upcoming third season of The CW's hit supernatural drama TV series "The Originals." The "Significant Mother" actor shared his enthusiasm to return with his on-screen family as well as explore, together with the fans, more of the character.

"From what I understand, this is going to be a flashback-heavy season, which is cool, because it means there's more opportunity for Kol to come back and you can see more of him," he told TV Line.

He further revealed to the media outlet what he has done in order for his return to be smooth-sailing and without any hang-ups due to schedule conflicts.

"I made it clear when I signed on to 'Significant Mother' that I wanted to also be available for The Originals if the opportunity came up," Buzolic continued. "I'm incredibly grateful to Julie Plec for giving me that opportunity; being a part of that show has been a life-changing experience for me. I'll always have a soft spot for that character."

Earlier this month, during the show's Comic-Con panel, it was found out that the "flashback-heavy" season will see new faces coming to the series.

The publication pointed out characters Van -- "a male witch in his early 20s, who reluctantly becomes involved in New Orleans' supernatural politics when a loved one is murdered" -- and Tristan, who has a "long and complicated history with the Mikaelsons."

"The Originals" Season 3 premieres Thursday, Oct. 8 at 9 p.m. on The CW.
