Executive Producer Michael Narducci hinted at the happenings of "The Originals" Season 4. With the trouble brought by Marcel, there are speculations that the upcoming episodes will portray him as the new villain.
However, Narducci explained that the rumors regarding Marcel are not exactly true. He said, "I definitely think it's not accurate. Marcel is furious that Davina was so callously put to the side in favor of "Always and Forever," and when he confronted the Mikaelsons about it, they killed him. Now, Marcel is going to find himself as the most powerful creature in all the land; the werewolves are still pretty much a non-factor, the humans are down and scared, and the witches have lost their connection to the ancestors."
A New Side To Many Characters
Narducci elaborated that fans will see a different side to Marcel since he will learn from his mistakes. In the upcoming season, he will have to be more independent as he takes on New Orleans. However, he will no longer be involved in any evil presence.
Hayley will also be moving forward with her own storyline. Narducci hinted that there is a chance that Hayley will explore her powers more as she tries to communicate with those in the dream world.
Will There Be a Time Jump?
While he did not confirm any specific storyline, Narducci said that there will soon be a time jump in the upcoming season. He said, "It's almost mandatory that there be some sort of time jump. This is a definitive loss on the part of the Mikaelsons. The prophecy predicted they would fall, and they fell. There's no easy way out of the situation they're in." There has yet to be a release date for the upcoming season of "The Originals."
