'The Originals' Season 4 News & Spoilers: Joseph Morgan Teases that Friends Will Turn to Foes, Unlikely Alliances Forms in New Season; New Orleans Will Be Turned Upside Down?

Joseph Morgan has been teasing fans with details about the new season to get by with the long wait.

Unlike its first three seasons with a fall schedule, the premiere of "The Originals" Season 4 is expected to be early next year yet. It is included in the mid-season schedule of The CW. With this development, Joseph Morgan, who plays Klaus Mikaelson, has given the fans of the vampire series to get by with the longer time they have to,wait for next season's premiere.

Turn New Orleans Upside Down

Saying that he feels the pain of the longer wait, Morgan provided some exciting teasers on what to expect in the much anticipated "The Originals" Season 4. The actor took to Instagram to share that the beloved vampire series' setting, New Orleans, will be turned upside down as viewers will see things that they previously thought were impossible.

Morgan further teased that even bigger than anything else is that his character Klaus will be there. Klaus was left for dead in the previous season but will rise once again with newfound powers in "The Originals" Season 4.

Barely made it out alive

Last season, Klaus was imprisoned by Marcel (Charles Michael Davis). His life was put into serious danger as his surrogate son made him atone for his sins. He barely made it out alive as does the rest of his family.

Freya (Riley Voelkel) allowed the other Mikaelsons to escape death by taking them in some sort of an alternate dimension. When "The Originals" Season 4 returns, they will still be there until help arrives in the person of Hayley (Phoebe Tonkin). Along with her daughter Hope, she left New Orleans in order to save the whole clan.

Betrayal and unlikely alliances

"The Originals" Season 4 will have a five year jump from the events of last season's finale. But, apart from Hope being older, nothing much will change with the other characters and their situations according to spoilers.

Morgan also teased about betrayal and unlikely alliances will be formed as former characters hostile to each other will be forced to work together while allies turn hostile in "The Originals" Season 4. The actor said the new season promises to change the dynamics of the characters.

Spoilers for "The Originals" Season 4 suggest that based on Morgan's teaser, Marcel may be able to forgive Klaus and free him to stall a greater danger that is coming. This is said to be coming from Klaus' old friend who is coming back to town to hunt his daughter and others in town.

Morgan also said, this time on Twitter, that "The Originals" Season 4 will be like a horror show. This will probably because a new psycho vampire will going after the children of New Orleans.

Reduced number of episodes

Much to the disappointment of the fans, "The Originals" Season 4 will have reduced number of episodes, from 22 to only 13 on top of the pushed back premiere. Is this a sign that the spin-off will be following the way of "The Vampire Diaries", its parent series?

There is no word of that yet and so fans will just have to wait and see how "The Originals" Season 4 performs when it returns on The CW.
