During his interview with Marlon James, the actor was asked about his plans in creating a film about Pontius Pilate. The writer noted that he and Brad Pitt have the same taste when it comes to Mel Gibson's "propaganda" films. Pitt also noted Mel Gibson's ability in showing violence in his films. He even compared Gibson's work with that of Scientology founder L. Ron Hubbard.

Even so, Pitt could not criticize Gibson's "Apocalypto" film as he emphasized that he liked the film very much.

'The Passion of the Christ' Movie

"The Passion of the Christ" was a very controversial film because of its graphic presentation of violence which happened in Christ's crucifixion. However, it was a hugely-followed 2004 movie which retold Jesus' final 12 hours.

In another hand, Gibson has also been open about his opinions in the film industry. He also noted his confusion on why some films cost so much in production when it can be produced without exceeding the $100 million benchmark.

However, he exempted film productions which are using green screens since he hasn't made one. Gibson also cleared it out that he is not into heroes wearing spandex and pointed out that the suit itself might be the reason why superhero films cost too much.

Meanwhile, Gibson received a standing ovation for his film "Hacksaw Ridge" at the Venice Film Festival. The film focuses on the life of Desmond T. Doss, a soldier who refuses to carry a gun. He was able to save 75 other soldiers in Okinawa.

The film is starred by actors Andrew Garfield and Vince Vaughn.

The 60-year-old actor and director is also expected to produce a sequel of "The Passion of the Christ" soon. It will be dubbed as "The Resurrection".

Pitt versus Gibson

With this sudden uncalled-for comment from Pitt, it seems that Gibson will not work with him anytime soon. Gibson is not worried, however, as he has some line up to follow through for the next years.
