'The Simpsons' Season 29 Spoilers: Treehouse Of Horror Final Segment To Be Scariest In Show's History

"The Simpsons" season 29 is already well on its way with episode 3 airing last Sunday. However, it's probably the annual Halloween episode "Treehouse of Horror" that most fans are excited about.

The episode has been mostly met with screams of laughter instead of screams of fright. However, executive producer Al Jean thinks the final segment in the XXVIIIth edition may finally change that.

"We have what I think is the scariest segment we ever did," he says. "I don't want to say more."

"The Simpsons" season 29 episode 4 "Treehouse of Horror" appears to have three segments the first of which is titled "Exor-Sis." The segment features Maggie being possessed with the family trying to drive away the demon with the help of an exorcist.

A yet untitled segment will also see Lisa discover an alternate reality. In this particular reality, the Simpsons are a creepy yet perfect family which will probably prompt her to ask very deep questions about herself.

Finally, there's "MMM... Homer" where Homer cannibalizes himself after he runs out of food while Marge and the kids are away from home. Jean says the also put a disclaimer out – just like any other "Treehouse of Horror" segment – as a warning to the audience. Fans should also expect jokes along the lines of "stop eating yourself."

Guest stars in the episode include Mario Batali as himself, Ben Daniels as a priest and William Friedkin as Dr. Kenneth Humphries. Daniel plays Father Marcus on Fox's Exorcist series while Friedkin served as director of 1973's The Exorcist so it would be interesting to see what they have to offer in the episode as well as fans' reactions to the show's casting choice.

"The Simpsons" season 29 episode 4 "Treehouse of Horror XXVIII" is set to air on Oct. 22 8 p.m. ET on Fox.
