'The Strain' Season 3 Spoilers: Show Bosses Carlton Cuse and Chuck Hogan Tease A Much More Complicated Season 3

The second season of FX's hit vampire drama TV series "The Strain" may already have ended but the fans are still reeling over the tragic events at the end. Meanwhile, a recent interview with the show bosses reveals a much more complicated Season 3.

For those who missed it (spoiler alert), the season finale titled "Night Train" ended with the death of one of the major characters in the story, Nora. Fans were certainly hoping that the former CDC member will still survive but unfortunately, as what executive producer Carlton Cuse told TVLine, "Nora is dead."

This event, as it turns out, is a departure of the show from the novel of the same name written by Guillermo Del Torro and Chuck Hogan.

Regardless of this tragedy, Cuse explained that Nora's demise is apparently "necessary to move Eph into the place he needs to be for Season 3."

Eph will now be more than eager to concoct the bioweapon he and Nora designed against the Strigois. Moreover, he will have the Master answer for the loss of his estranged wife and son, Zack.

"He's going to be on a tear in Season 3," Hogan told TVLine.

Despite the utter dislike of the fans, Eph's grumpy boy apparently has a big role in the progress of the story. For those who follow the books, they may find that Zack has a "fairly complicated relationship with the Master."

"What exactly is going on there is one of the big dramatic questions, and we're doing our own version of it in the series," Cuse went on to say (via TVLine).

In the bad side, Eldritch Palmer's working relationship with The Master could also get more even complicated with the death of Coco. The Strigoi ancient still relies on the elderly for some logistics while the business magnate needs the Master's "white" for survival. It gets even more interesting for the two.

Somehow, there's hope in Season 3. Setrakian and Fet now have the Occido Lumen, although with Quinlan's presence, the elderly professor's hold on the book could be challenged anytime soon.

Hogan, meanwhile said that viewers won't have to expect the same "heroes operating out of a main base" when the new season arrives as the gang now has to be on a constant move.
