'The Vampire Diaries' Season 6 News, Spoilers: A Homecoming Party in 'The World Has Turned and Left Me Here'

"The Vampire Diaries" Season 6 introduces Liam (Marco James) as Elena's (Nina Dobrev) new love interest in its premiere episode. Now fans are wondering will the newfound flame can last throughout?

Marco James' character was a human and a classmate of Elena at her pre-med school. After she opted to have Alaric (Matt Davis) erased her memories of Damon (Ian Somerhalder), she took notice of the "cocky yet good-natured" guy and initially wanted to set him up with Candice Accola's Caroline.

However, in the 3rd episode, "Welcome to Paradise," it was revealed that Liam was interested with Elena. He even kissed her at a party. But that's for Elena to decide whether she should give in to the musings of the college student.
