'The Vampire Diaries' Season 8 Spoilers: Nina Dobrev Might Return

"The Vampire Diaries" Season 7 has just recently ended which featured the familiar voice of Elena Gilbert which is played by Nina Dobrev.

The finale had fans speculating that the character will come back for the eight season of "Vampire Diaries." Elena had been absent for the past season of "The Vampire Diaries," since season 6 showed her enterting a deep sleep.

As stated in reports from Inquistr, the actress may make a comeback for the next season. While fans may be excited with the news, Ian Somerhalder's wife, Nikki Reed, may not be happy with the surprise.

Julie Plec, the next season's showrunner is persistent in bringing the actress back and she was already fighting for that idea in the seventh season since she was able to input her voice in the season 7 finale. When the character had left during season 6, it was an opportunity for the Nina to pursue other projects outside "The Vampire Diaries." However, Plec said, "So I'm sticking with my side of the plan, which is to bring her back at the very end."

The return of Nina may be good news for the fans, but it may not be the same with Reed. Somerhalder and Dobrev developed a relationship while they were both doing the show, but the couple eventually broke up. It was reported that Reed, who is the wife of Somerhalder, is not open to the idea because it would bring back the two actors together.

Nevertheless, fans are hoping to see the return of Dobrev. It was noted that the ratings of the series went down after the departure from the show. With that, there is much anticipation for what the upcoming season of "The Vampire Diaries" will hold.

There is no confirmed date yet for the premiere of "The Vampire Diaries" Seaosn 8 but it may be during late 2016.
