'The Walking Dead' Ex-Cast Hints Crossover Plot Details with 'Fear the Walking Dead'
A former cast member from "The Walking Dead" hinted that he's part of the planned "Fear the Walking Dead" crossover. Michael Cudlitz, who played Abraham Ford on the mother series, sent cryptic messages on his social media account and it ignited speculations from fans.
Cudlitz's character, who was introduced in season 4, died during the seventh season opener of "The Walking Dead." It looks like fans will see him in the crossover, though.
"There is one character that is going to go from one show, that I will not name, to another show, that I will not name," creator Robert Kirkman told an audience at the New York Comic-Con. "This is a huge event in the world of 'The Walking Dead.'"

"Crazy shit is about to go down. See y'all on the other side," the actor posted on Twitter. His message followed Kirkman's announcement of a special episode involving "The Walking Dead" and "Fear the Walking Dead."
Fans surmised Cudlitz's tweet indicated his return to the franchise because among all the characters on "The Walking Dead," Ford has closer ties with the spinoff series.
Ford's backstory showed that just right after the zombie outbreak escalated, he traveled from Houston, Texas to head to Washington, D.C. He encountered "The Walking Dead's" Glenn (Steven Yeun) and Tara (Alanna Masterson) along the way but he might have also encountered "Fear the Walking Dead's" Madison (Kim Dickens) and her group in an earlier timeline.
Madison's group in the current season of "Fear the Walking Dead," which is a prequel to the mother show, are heading northeast from the American-Mexican border. Speculations are that they will encounter Ford just before he meets Glenn and Tara from "The Walking Dead."
Cudlitz once said that he's open to returning to the franchise one way or another. He told Cinema Blend that he enjoyed his work on the series and he won't pass up any chance to be back.
"I would certainly come back and play if they wanted me to," he said and further explained how his dead character can potentially be in the franchise again. "You could trace it back to our earlier group if that helps, do that."
"The Walking Dead" will premiere season 8 on Sunday, Oct. 22, at 9:00 p.m. EST on AMC. "Fear the Walking Dead" currently airs its third season run on the network every Tuesdays at 9:00 p.m. EST.
