'The Walking Dead' Season 4: A Romantic Relationship Between Rick and Michonne?

"The Walking Dead" Season 4 could see a new relationship brewing between two of the main characters.

The group of surviving heroes fearless leader Rick Grimes and the quiet and ruthless Michonne could become an item this next season, said creator Robert Kirkman.

"[Rick and Michonne] are definitely forming a friendship," he said according to Hypable. "They have a very large mutual respect for each other because of their capabilities and their ability to trust one another, and I think that's a lot of what was growing in the [Season 3] episode where they both went off on a run together."

The run Kirkman is talking about occurred toward the end of season 3, where they appeared to at one point be sarcastically flirty with each other.

"Honestly, I love that Rick and Michonne are friends and I appreciate the possibility of them being something more someday. But considering what these two characters are like and everything they've been through, I think a lot more time should be spent on developing the friendship. And then the romance should come on as a sort of slow burn, at the latter end of the season," said one person in the comments on her feelings toward the possibility.

One thing for sure is that season 4 will be filled with more dark times as ever, as the little glimpses of the show have been making their way to the Internet.

The season 4 poster reveals a disheveled Rick standing in the middle of a ripped open fence suggesting that perhaps walkers have gotten into their home.

The premiere episode of season four is also known as "30 Days Without Accident" and is slated to include "great drama and great action," according to AMC's blog.

The new season will begin on Oct. 13, right after "Breaking Bad" ends.
