'The Walking Dead' Season 4: Andrew Lincoln Won't Be Watching

With "The Walking Dead" returning to television on Oct. 13 for it's season 4 premiere, it seems like almost everyone is primed to watch the show. However, there is at least one man who likes the show, but will not be watching season 4. And that man is the show's star Andrew Lincoln.

Lincoln sat down with Entertainment Weekly to discuss why he doesn't watch the highly popular AMC show he stars in.

"The original reason is the fact that I don't actually enjoy looking at myself," the star said. He went in more in depth to add what exactly he is critical of when watching his performance, and why he doesn't like it.

Lincoln is too critical "because of the directorial choices that possibly, because I've done it, make you go, 'Oh, there's a take that blah-blah-blah.' But mainly because I did it for a while, I watched it, and it's a self-conscious thing of watching myself and going, 'Oh I like it when I do that. That's kind of cool.' And then, 'Oh, I don't like it when I do that.'"

"That defeats the object of what I want to do as an actor, which is to try and be in the role and not be self-conscious," he explained. "I watch great actors, great actors that I admire beyond all things and I see them replicate, and it's very hard not to. I don't want to do that. I just want to leave myself alone as much as I can. It breaks the spell, it breaks the magic somewhat."

The season premiere of "The Walking Dead" is set to premiere on AMC on Oct. 13.
