'The Walking Dead' Season 6 Cast News, Update: Christian Serratos Talks Rosita's Backstory, Andrew Lincoln Says Story is 'Getting Stronger'

A lot of attention may have been thrown at AMC's upcoming "The Walking Dead" universe spinoff series "Fear the Walking Dead." But fans are still hankering for more information about the network's main hit television event, "The Walking Dead," and its forthcoming Season 6.

Just this week, cast member Andrew Lincoln talked about it during the 41st Annual Saturn Awards.

The actor, who plays the fan-favorite character Rick Grimes, told the publication how much he looks forward to in the next chapter which, according to him, is just keeps "getting stronger and stronger."

"I think the writing and the story is getting stronger and stronger. I'm thrilled," Lincoln told Collider. "I thought that last season Rick's journey was some of the finest and most complex that I've had to attempt. Scott and the writers team are magnificent. As long as they keep pushing us in the direction they're doing I think we're going to open up the world in a way we've never ever [fans] haven't experienced before."

Other member of the cast, actress Christian Serratos, sat down with AMC to talk about her M16-wielding heroine.

Perhaps one of the most underrated characters in the zombie-slaying drama show, Rosita still plays a huge part in the survival of the group.

"She's remarkably brave. What I love about her is that she's definitely a capable woman and is capable of taking care of herself. If she was alone in the apocalypse, she would manage very well and would be just fine," Serratos said.

She went on to reveal some backstory of Rosita.

"I know what her family situation might have been. What I was told is that she came from a family of just men. She might have lost her mother and grew up with a bunch of brothers. I think that's where she gets a lot of her knowledge, strength and capability," she said.

"The Walking Dead" Season 6 is expected to premiere this October.
