'The Witcher 3' DLC Update: Game Director Confirms Blood and Wine Expansion Pack Is In The Works

CD Projekt's "The Witcher 3" game director revealed they are working on the final DLC for the game. The expansion pack, Blood and Wine, will release next year.

"The Witcher 3's" game director Konrad Tomaszkiewicz dropped the news on a blog post over at the game's official site, saying: "Now we're working on Blood and Wine, the final expansion for Wild Hunt which we will launch in 2016."

Tomaszkiewicz also reveals a new trailer for the game as a way of thanking the game's players and fans. Watch the new game trailer below:

According to the game director, the game studio has had a "really epic" year. The game was developed for more than three and a half years and went on to sell 6 million units in six weeks. It also received seven nominations for the 2015 Game of the Year Awards.

"We launched Wild Hunt, the RPG we've been working on for so long, then we've gone above and beyond to give gamers as many free DLC as we could, and then released Hearts of Stone, which — judging from player feedback — took the game even further. And we innovated all along the way — if you compare Wild Hunt to our previous game, almost every element was improved or changed," says Tomaszkiewicz.

The Hearts of Stone DLC not only provided new developments but also new adventures, complete with tougher enemies, within an added 10 hours of gameplay. Express praised the move to increase the difficulty of the game.

In addition to the DLC, CD Projekt is also working on a new sci-fi game. The game developer's visual effects artist, Jose Teixeira, told MCV the new game is "Cyberpunk 2077," which is by far the biggest title they have ever made. Teixeira, however, remained silent on the release date.
