'The Young and the Restless' news, cast, spoilers: Sharon Case slams rumors of being fired, more storylines await her

Persistent rumors have been going around about Sharon Case departing the long-running soap "The Young and the Restless." However, according to Celebrity Dirty Laundry, that is not at all close to what is happening.

For almost 21 years, Sharon Case has been portraying the role of Sharon Newman. It is undeniable that her contribution to the show as an actress would be a loss if her character were eliminated. However, many changes have happened in the show recently, and right now, Charles Pratt Jr. and Jill Farren Phelps are leading the show, which has alarmed fans that soon there might be no need for Sharon.

This isn't a new rumor for Case, as she has been dealing with this too much for her liking. It was rumored last year that she was leaving after Sharon and Nick (Joshua Morrow) had called off their wedding. Fans felt that Nick's departure would leave Sharon unable to continue with her own storyline. Case was quick to dismiss this rumor back then by going to Twitter and saying that a "front and center storyline" is coming in the next few months.

With the rumors resurfacing once again, she sounded almost exasperated to have to deal with it again. A fan named Janis Joplin had asked her to clear out the rumors, saying, "Please put the report to rest! Are you leaving the show or not?" Case replied to the tweet with, "Hi Janis. The answer is no. But no matter how many times I tweet this, the story never seems to go away."

Fans feel more assured after reading Case's words. Furthermore, Chuck Pratt has also stated that he enjoys working with the actress so much that he has written more compelling storylines for her in the future.

Viewers can continue watching Sharon Case as part of The Young and the Restless, which airs every Monday to Friday, on CBS.
