'The Young and the Restless' Spoilers, Cast Rumors: Chloe Mitchell to Disappear, Elizabeth Hendrickson Quits

"The Young and the Restless" fans will be shocked over cast news emerging this week on the show. According to reports on Monday, "Y&R" star Elizabeth Hendrickson is quitting her role as Chloe Mitchell.

Hendrickson's contract with "Y&R" is set to expire and she will not renew it, therefore ending her six-year run on the CBS series, according to Michael Logan at TV Guide.

"Young and the Restless" fans are already mourning the loss of Hendrickson's character, as Chloe was beloved by the audience who sympathized with the loss of her daughter Delia on the show.

However, following Delia's death by a hit and run accident, grief-stricken Chloe kidnapped Connor, the son of Adam and Chelsea. One found out by authorities, Chloe was checked into a mental hospital.

Meanwhile, Hendrickson is the latest change in casting on "Y&R." Actor Michael Muhney was fired from the show in January, and show runners are reportedly searching for a replacement actor to play Adam Newman.

Previously released spoilers at "Y&R" confirmed that Muhney was fired over sexual harassment allegations, and that his character Adam is not dead. The drama is said to begin laying the groundwork for Adam to return, and that show runners are currently searching for the perfect actor to fill the role.

In an episode set to air on March 28, Chelsea receives a phone call where she asks, "Is that you, Adam?" The spoiler is convincing many "Y&R" fans to believe that Adam will in fact return, according to Celebrity Dirty Laundry.

Furthermore, several other reports seem to confirm Adam's return, including a source at Radar Online that revealed "Y&R" producers are searching for the "best actor" who the "audience will grow to love" since Adam will become "central to the show."

Meanwhile, Muhney's abrupt exit from "Y&R" set producers back on the show, and they are seeking a very specific replacement actor in an attempt to avoid a dramatic firing from happening again.
