This Clue Suggests Boba Fett Will Be in 'Rogue One: A Star Wars Story'

"Rogue One: A Star Wars Story" is still several months' time coming. But with its release date coming nearer and nearer, fans and the media alike have been putting their theories and speculations about the movie out there.

The most recent of these rumors concerns Boba Fett. It was reported previously that the popular bounty hunter will have his own anthology flick that's scheduled to come in 2020. Now multiple reports are saying Boba Fett could appear sooner than that. In particular, he could appear in the upcoming "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story."

The rumor is based on an image spotted during the Nuremberg Toy Fair, an international toy fair held in Germany. During the event, a promotional image (below) of a Lego set based on the "Rogue One" was shown.

"Star Wars" fans were quick to point out that the image is that of Boba Fett's ship, Slave 1. The bounty hunter's ship is a modified Kurat Systems Engineering Firespray-class interceptor. The toy in the image appears to have a different paint job, but it's still Boba Fett's Slave 1.

As to how Boba Fett or his ship will play into the movie, Cinema Blend has a number of theories. First, it's possible that the Slave 1 could have been stolen from the bounty hunter and have a different owner, should it appear in "Rogue One." Another theory is one of Felicity Jone's character, Lyra Erso. The character is rumored to be Boba Fett's daughter and could have taken the ship out for a joyride. There's also the possibility that Darth Vader, who is also rumored to be in the film, will take advantage of Boba Fett's services to get back the stolen plans of his Death Star.

In the past, "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" character Tasu Leech was "leaked" by a Lego Minifigure. So it's possible that Boba Fett, or at least his ship, will be featured in "Rogue One." On the other hand, toy sets have also been known to add a piece or two that isn't in the movie from which it's based. So toy leaks like this one aren't entirely reliable.

This new rumor adds to previous other speculations already made about the film. Fans will find out which of these will prove to be true when "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story" releases on Dec. 16.
