'Thor: Ragnarok' News: Fans Expecting Explosive Installment After Kevin Feige Announced Cast Members

Though there has yet to be a release date for the upcoming installment of the Marvel film "Thor: Ragnarok," fans are already hoping to see a stellar film from the comic franchise.

Marvel CEO Kevin Feige recently announced the list of actors involved in the upcoming film, which include big names in Hollywood, such as Cate Blanchett, Jeff Goldblum, and Tessa Thompson. The three new actors will be joining Chris Hemsworth, who will play the role of Thor, as well as Mark Ruffalo, who will play the role of the Hulk.

Feige stated via IGN, "The continuation of the epic Thor franchise will be powerful and unique, and with the additions of Cate, Jeff, Tessa, Karl, and Mark to the cast we have the makings of his most dangerous and heroic adventure yet. The sheer, raw talent each of these actors brings to the screen can't be quantified. Having any one of them join the Marvel Cinematic Universe would be an honor, and having all of them is incredible."

It was confirmed that Blanchett will play the role of Hela. Fans of the comic books are aware that Hela is one of Thor's enemies, as she is the ruler of the Asgardian underworld. Along with the fans, Blanchett is excited to take on the iconic Marvel character.

According to her interview with Moloive, she said, "I've only done action a couple of times, so it feels like…a departure is too strong a word, but it certainly seems like a change for me. So, I am looking forward to getting really fit, and wearing lycra, and hoping to earn a bit of street cred from my kids. I can't wait."

Meanwhile, Goldblum will be playing the role of The Grandmaster, which is an Elder of the Universe. It was rumored that his character's involvement in the film will present an interesting action scene between Thor and the Hulk.

As for Thompson, she will take on the role of Valkyrie, who is a warrior from Asgard. In the Marvel comics, she was seen alongside the Avengers as well as the Defenders. Since it was confirmed that Natalie Portman will no longer by taking part in the film, there are speculations that Thompson's character will become the love interest of Thor.

"Thor: Ragnarok" is expected to begin filming soon in Australia.
