The Taika Waititi-directed Marvel film "Thor: Ragnarok" is gaining positive reviews from critics prior to its launching.

Disney and Marvel held the first media screening for the latest "Thor" film. They even allowed the press to rave about the movie on social media ahead of the release of official reviews.

The public needs to wait a few more weeks to watch "Thor: Ragnarok." But no doubt, these first reactions suggest it is a must-watch flick. Many have dubbed it the best and funniest among the "Thor" films.

IGN's Jim Vejvoda took to Twitter to announce that "Thor: Ragnarok" is the best "Thor" movie yet. Although he thinks the movie is "really good," he refrained from describing it as "awesome."

Vejvoda made a shout out to the actors. He said, Chris Hemsworth, who plays the Asgardian god, Mark Ruffalo, who portrays The Hulk, Tessa Thompson, who plays the female warrior Valkyrie, and Jeff Goldblum, who portrays En Dwi Gast/Grandmaster, were great.

Slashfilm's editor Peter Sciretta seems to agree with Vejvoda about the flick being the best "Thor" film thus far. He also said it is the funniest. Sciretta praised Mark Mothersbaugh's score.

Collider's horror lead editor Haleigh Foutch said that the film was funny from start to finish. "Stumbles a bit in the first act, but it triumphs when it gets weird with it," she wrote. She also left words of praise for the new additions to the franchise, especially to Thompson.

Unlike Vejvoda, Scott Mendelson, a film critic for Forbes, thought "Thor: Ragnarok" was "awesome" and "solid MCU fun." He praised the flick for its music, and for its characters, especially Blanchett. He also hinted that the film has a '80s video game feel to it. He said that it is slightly but wholly entertaining.

"Thor: Ragnarok" hits the big screen on Friday, Nov. 3.
